Description:
In this creative writing
workshop, reflection on food memories will lead participants into storytelling
that engages the senses. Introducing some tools of the craft used by food
writers, this generative workshop will help us share personal stories to
savor.
Bio:
Melani "Mele" Martinez is a Senior Lecturer in UA's
Foundation Writing Program and a former HSI Fellow. Her research interests
include culturally responsive pedagogies, Mestiz@ studies, and Southern Arizona
history & folklore. Her memoir (forthcoming 2024) tells the story of her
family’s tamaleria in Tucson’s historic Presidio District. Melani teaches
Borderlands and Food Writing.
